JOB: Lecturer in Statistics at Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia

The Department of Statistics at Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia is currently seeking a suitably qualified Lecturer (Level B). The Department is one of the largest University Statistics group in Australia, with 18 academic staff. The successful applicant will contribute to the Department’s teaching program, engage in scholarly and research activities, undertake associated administration, and contribute to university service. While the areas of statistical research are not prescribed, applicants with strong records in applied or theoretical statistics will be preferred. Essential criteria: A PhD (or submitted) in statistics or a related discipline or equivalent combination of education, training and experience; an established research record or evidence of outstanding research potential in a relevant area of statistics; ability to teach undergraduate statistics, as demonstrated, for example, by experience in tutoring or lecturing; excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.

Desirable Criteria:evidence of interest in interdisciplinary research and record of interdisciplinary research.

Salary Package: From A$99,879 to A$118,174, plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading.

Appointment Type: Full-time, continuing (tenured) position. The position is available from 30 June 2017.
