We are seeking to appoint up to five permanent academic positions in Computer Science to build expertise in our priority research areas of Data Science and Computational Science and to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supervision. This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly configured department at a crucial moment in its development. Our intention is to build a highly successful department that conducts world-leading computer science research and delivers a thriving portfolio of courses.

The department sits in the School of Mathematical, Physical and Computational Sciences which has world-leading expertise in weather, climate, earth observation and mathematical and statistical methods for environmental applications. As such, we would particularly welcome applications from computer scientists with skills and experience in developing data science and computational science approaches in the context of the environmental research activity in the wider School.

You will have:

• An outstanding track record of computer science research publications and external funding commensurate with the academic rank for which you are applying
• The skills and experience to contribute to Computer Science teaching and supervision in a UK higher education context
• A PhD in Computer Science or a related field, and specific research specialisation in Data Science and/or Computational Science
• Ideally, an orientation towards interdisciplinary research and experience in data science and/or computational science research for simulation and modelling in the context of environmental and atmospheric sciences or other scientific domains

Applications should be via the link in the advert and queries about the posts should be addressed to Giuseppe Di Fatta Esta dirección de correo electrónico está siendo protegida contra los robots de spam. Necesita tener JavaScript habilitado para poder verlo.
