A call for candidates for PhD fellowships funded by the UVIC has been issued. The deadline for applications is July 4th 2014, and one of the lines of research for which the fellowships can be taken is:
Integrative genomics. Development of innovative methods and their corresponding computational implementation for integration of high-dimensional genomic data. The main motivation of this project is the understanding of the effect of the genetic component in the susceptibility and the curse of complex diseases. Complex diseases are controlled by molecular mechanisms that can be measured at different levels giving rise to different omics data: genomics, epigenomics, transcriptomics, … The analysis and integration of these huge and diverse omics information is the main goal of this project.
