Make a difference as statistician in GSK's Statistical Innovation Group

The Statistical Innovation Group at GSK, led by Prof Nicky Best, has openings at manager and director/senior director level for talented statisticians who can demonstrate innovative thinking, excellent communication skills, and who are able to drive methodology development and influence trial design and analysis strategies.
Responsibilities of these roles include:
* Apply innovative statistical thinking to enhance the quality, robustness, and efficiency of statistical methodology used across GSK. A key feature will be the systematic use of prior information (including expert knowledge), statistical modelling and simulation - using Bayesian methods as appropriate - to design more effective studies which: raise the likelihood of success (where the drug is safe and effective), increase the likelihood of an early termination (where the drug is ineffective or unsafe), and/or reduce the expected cost of the trial or programme.
* Provide statistical consultancy and training to statistical and non-statistical staff as needed
* Create and foster collaborations with external statistical groups (both industry and academia) in order to promote statistical innovation within GSK and across the pharmaceutical industry
* Proactively contribute to development and implementation a communication strategy to rapidly advance awareness and uptake of new statistical methods and novel designs within GSK
Within GSK, the Statistical Innovation Group (SIG) is part of Quantitative Sciences, a group which includes clinical statistics, clinical pharmacology modelling and simulation, epidemiology, non-clinical statistics, and health economics modelling. The primary focus of the SIG is Pharma R&D, with particular attention on clinical trial design, analysis and interpretation. However, the group also has a wide-ranging remit to work with all parts of the GSK business, providing the opportunity to influence statistical thinking across the spectrum of drug development, from early discovery, to registration and marketed product support.
