University of Washington (Statistics - Assistant or Associate Professor)

The Provost of the University of Washington has launched a major effort focused on Data-Driven Discovery, with a commitment to hire several new faculty in this area. In support of this effort, we are seeking candidates for a full-time Tenure-Track Assistant (0116) or Tenured Associate (0102) Professor position in the Department of Statistics at the University of Washington. This would be a full-time, multi-year, 9-month service period appointment. Applicants must have their Ph.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) by the start of the appointment.

We encourage applications from exceptional candidates with a particular focus on machine learning and large-scale statistical analysis, and with a track record in applications. Duties of this appointment include research, undergraduate and graduate teaching in statistics, and service. The new faculty will also participate in the UW eScience Institute.
