The Department of Mathematics at Washington State University invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position in Statistics on the Vancouver campus. We seek a highly collaborative individual with the ability to develop statistical techniques to apply to problems in biology, environmental science and/or social sciences. Area of specialization is open, however preference will be given to candidates with broad interest in biostatistics, environmental or ecological statistics, or statistics in the social sciences, and who complement strengths of existing faculty in the College of Arts and Sciences in Vancouver. Requirements: Applicants must have a PhD in mathematics, statistics, or a closely-related field by August 16, 2014, and demonstrate high potential to establish an externally funded research program in statistics that includes mentoring diverse graduate and undergraduate students and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Statistics. Position responsibilities include teaching, research and service. Research expectations and teaching loads are consistent across the WSU campuses.
